In the last 5 years, Linn have developed cutting-edge digital signal processing technology in Exakt. Implementing this technology into a phono stage has been the final step in demonstrating what an all digital system can do with an analogue source. The Urika II is that product and it carries out the key process of implementing the RIAA curve in the digital domain. This brings you lower distortion and lower noise, for greater fidelity in the music and strikingly low noise floor. The reference Linn Klimax LP12 includes a Linn Urika II MC Digital phono stage.
Transported over Exakt Link, the musical information that Urika II delivers is perfectly preserved until the moment it reaches your ears. And that’s not all. The Urika II can optimise each and every individual device, correcting the variations inherent in the analogue stage to ensure outstanding performance every time.
Urika II can be optimised to work with your preferred cartridge load values. Simply choose from our list of popular cartridges or enter your own, no switches or tiny dials. All the calibration takes place in the digital domain for any cartridge.
Urika II is powered by the Linn Radikal power supply and is mounted on the integrated Trampolin base board within the plinth of your Sondek LP12 to maintain phono stage isolation and improve deck suspension.
The Urika II has been tested in incredible detail to measure the difference it makes, and most importantly of all we used our ears to listen. It is a fundamental upgrade for those using a turntable with a Linn Exakt digital music system.
